Getting Hooked on Qrank

Since I joined the ranks of the iPhone users last year I've seen a lot of apps come and go from my phone. Most apps I added found themselves deleted soon after, some immediately after. Even the mega-games like Angry Birds and Cut the Rope had a relatively short life span, and though I haven't deleted them, I don't find myself coming back to them regularly any more. But the one app that I've found myself hopelessly addicted to is the fantastic daily trivia game, Qrank.
Boasting a 70% player retention rate, Qrank (pronounced Crank) is a daily (and free!) pop culture trivia game from Ricochet Labs for the iPhone and Facebook (and coming soon to Android). Billing itself as a "Daily Social Quiz Addiction" it all began in Austin, TX and has ballooned into an international obsession with over 30,000 trivia junkies. Each day you're presented with a game board similar to Jeopardy from which you select 15 of the 20 questions to answer in a multiple choice format. But don't dawdle, the longer you take to answer a question, the lower the score. Many of the questions are user submitted, so the content is always fresh with the pop culture and news items of the week. Once you complete your questions you're presented with a leaderboard that shows how you fared versus your friends, city, state and so on. This keeps you coming back day after day as you try to best your friends and climb to the top of the global leaderboard.
Features:
- Fresh Questions pulled from the news of the week
- Life Line Power-ups (Reveal Subject, Reveal Bonuses, Freeze Timer, 50/50, and Percentage Life Line)
- Awards Unlock Awards for achieving in game feats
- Submit Questions for inclusion in the game via the Qrank Website
- Social Gaming Leaderboards let you compete versus your friends, city, state, country and the world!
- Social Media Tie-ins Get daily hints via the Qrank Facebook and Twitter feeds
If you're a lover of trivia or a self-professed purveyor of useless knowledge like me, you'll definitely want to do yourself a favor and check out Qrank. Just don't blame me once you're addicted!
