Xbox + Kinect = ?

Recently I had an XBox 360 meltdown (RROD) and at first I thought I could handle 2 weeks without my console while Microsoft shipped me out a new one, but after about 3 days of tremors, cold sweats and extreme irritability I realised I couldn't last much longer without it. So I did what any normal perso... err... gamer would do and I bought a new one. But this new console wasn't just any old Xbox, this was an XBox/Kinect bundle! And after seeing videos on the internet about the Kinect's capabilities (Milo Demo), I must admit I was pretty excited to get home and try this thing out.

Conclusion
Well, after a little over a month with the Kinect I gotta say I'm not impressed. The technology has huge potential but its current use in games is very poor.  Every game I've tried or seen so far has just been a clone of a Wii game, which is alright if your 4 years old (my nephew loves the Kinect) but an adult gamer like myself will most likley find that they're sitting on their couch with a controller in hand playing "Super Meat Boy" or "Fallout: New Vegas" after about 15 minutes.

Final Thoughts
The games released for the Kinect might not be that great, but a lot of the custom mods/hacks people are making are pretty rad, check out kinecthacks.net to see what people are doing.
