If you haven't heard of Calgary 2012, you will soon. Calgary 2012 is a non-profit organziation created to cultivate and promote culture in Calgary Alberta. FLIPP has been working with Calgary 2012 and collaborating with Evans Hunt to create a geo-location based app/game to celebrate Calgary being named our nations' "Cultural Capital of Canada".
We are creating the app leveraging the Foursquare platform. The mobile app game will allow players to compete for points, specials and earn rewards for checking in at various events and happenings throughout the city. In addition to the gaming aspec, the app will serve as a realtime dashboard for cultural activity in Calgary. Stay tuned for more details - the game is set to launch early April.
If you're not already on Foursquare and want to get prepared for the game, sign up for an account, connect with some friends, and practice your check-in skills.
If you're connected to the 'scene' in Calgary and know about the cool places to be before everyone else does now is a great time to apply to be a Calgary 2012 Cultural Ambassador. For more information what it means to be an Ambassador all the perks and how to apply - click here.
