Tweets of the Week #9

Tweet #1: How to Magically Grow Hair through Stop Motion

Flipp's own Cam Hoff retweeted this gem of a video. It's a little hard to explain, but basically its a stop-motion animation of a man growing his beard out. Read the comments on Vimeo to learn how the director, Peter Simon, filmed the short. If anyone can grow a beard like this, PLEASE leave a comment. We'd love to meet you.

Taken from Petapixel.com:

"When his friend Tom Offer-Westort decided to shave off his hair and massive beard, Peter Simon suggested that they take advantage of the opportunity and do it in style. This stop-motion video is what resulted."

Tweet #2: Calgary Cyclists Could Soon Navigate By Phone

CBC Calgary sent out a tweet last Thursday that made the entire FLIPP crew smile. They had written an article about our recently submitted iPhone app, BikeYYC! This was a great surprise and helped bring awareness of our app to the Calgary people. Which is exactly what we were strategizing about last week. Thanks CBC Calgary and visit BikeYYC.ca for more info.

Taken from CBC.ca:

"...the proposed iPhone app will offer a map of city pathways and shared roads, tell users where they are, and list some major bike stores."

Tweet #3: Brewski Me!

I discovered Brewksi Me this weekend after seeing a tweet from fellow YYC tweeter @alfgoetz. Brewski Me is a social app for beer drinkers. Users are able to add friends and "checkin" to locations and keep a running log of the beers they are drinking and where. FLIPP had brainstormed an idea similar to this for a client, unfortunately it never took off. Good to see someone is actually running with this idea.

Taken from Brewski.me:

"Brewski*Me is a beer drinker's best friend! Rate and review new beers. Discover new brews and breweries and find out what your friends are drinking!"

There's a few great things I found on Twitter this week! I'm always coming across great stuff so follow me on Twitter, my username is Jimbones. What other great things did you come across this week? Let us know in the comments!
