Gonna Make a record in the month of may

Finally, May is over. I came through on my promise for a post every day. Every work day that is. Some days the content more engaging than others, but I managed to say something every day and that was the deal. Here's a Coles Notes version of the month in review, some updates and notes.

1. Social Media Sharing Of Tomorrow | The jury is still out on Path. I have convinced a total of 4 friends with iphones to check it out. One of them I'm pretty sure only downloaded it to shut me up. Not mentioning any names. The user interface for Path is great and it does create a cool visual path of your month if you're able to make frequent posts. There are great instagram type filters for your shots and others for purchase. Em, thanks for sharing moments on Path, even if we are sitting next to each other at the time. ha. I haven't linked it to a facebook account. Maybe this would allow for easier sharing. 3 out of 5 stars. Thanks to @djwald at Legendary Branding for his idea to post about ideas of tomorrow.

2. One Great City | Winnipeg's airport is still crap. At least they got their hockey team back. I hope the new terminal is operational before they arrive in the city or they may have trouble signing any of the players.

3. Did You Give Me A Task For That? | We have made the transition from Project Bubble to Harvest. The shortcoming of Harvest is that it does not associate tasks to projects. It does an amazing job of allowing the team to track time, however your team has no idea what they should be working on. Small problem. We really like the estimate and invoicing interface on Harvest so we may be combining another program with Harvest for a full solution. The journey continues.

4. Keep it Real. Really Real. | Chores at FLIPP continue. When Emily has floors she still puts too much Mr. Clean in her mix and makes peoples eyes water. The Big Rock only slightly takes the sting away. Greg is still rigging the chore lottery so Bryan gets dusting and he gets a pass.

5. Team Building at 120KM/Hour | The team at FLIPP is still booked to head to the track next month for some high speed karting at ABRS. Also in the works is a client appreciation day at the track. If you're not a client you have one more month to become one and get in on this offer.

6. Tell The World And Just Do It. | I managed to complete this blog marathon, so that is proof that telling the world will force you to follow through. We're doing great on our resolutions. Em has registered for a 10K race in July, Bryan is eating less garbage, Cam is drinking more water, Greg got his license, Kate completed her photography course and I will complete motorbike school in the next couple weeks. Jim > you need to ride your bike to work. Dan > Have you been going to the gym more? James, are you reading a book a month?

7. How to not be a D-bag when you buy new Sunglasses | I think I was able to help many people with this post. It was highlighted with the most comments. Notable comments from @pancakeso and @LTDesroches as well as a great site referred from @terrancecoonanwww.iwantproof.com

8. Can You Send The Working Files? | Great comments on this post. Painfully, this question still comes up. I'm considering resorting to titling all estimates with "no,you don't get the working files for this price", but I'm not sure this would even solve it.

9. We Have A Twitter Account. Now What? #fail | @camhoff had a great comment on this post relating social media to pounding the pavement 2.0. Where most think it's a free pass, it's not. Leveraging social media successfully takes a lot of thinking, a solid strategy and a lot of work. Pass it on.

10. Never Forget Your Headphones At The Gym | This is sound advice.

11. Personal Directory of the Future Or Gone In 60 Seconds? | This post was touching on a first look at about.me. The jury has come to a conclusion on this one and it's gone in 60 seconds. We'll see if we're right. Although @aaroncrunch and @jimbones did get a nice set of cards out of the deal.

12. Tackling Your Big Idea | Big update on this one. The client accepted the direction after the pitch and days later flip flopped and went back to the safe direction. This means we have a killer idea on the shelf. Act now. Call us, become a client, get this idea for yourself and cash in on the ABRS client appreciation day.

13. Followers: West Jet 68,836 Air Canada 15,530 #Justsayin | Update West Jet is now at 71,493 and AC is at 16,250.

14. Am I Really Cheering for the Sharks? | Yes I was. Now I'm cheering for Boston. Don't take my passport away just yet, I'm still Canadian - I'm just a Flames Fan. If you don't understand this then you're not a hard core Flames Fan. I'll cheer for Luongo when he's in a Team Canada Jersey. Until then, go Boston. Yes I lost a burger and beer to @bickle66 and it was worth it. We'll be at Craft Beer Market for that one.

15. Yammer And The Quest For One Login | Yammer might fizzle out at FLIPP, but it's still sputtering.

16. Do You Have A Card? No, Google Me. | Cards need to be rethought. Anyone have any great ideas?

17. No One Likes RFPS | I didn't do a very good job of this post. It should have been focused on how much more valuable it is to grow your business through referrals and solid contacts vs. the RFP process.

18. Brainwashed by Starbucks | Some great feedback on this post and lots of new coffee shops to check out. Look through the comments for a new hangout. Thanks @famanji for your comments on this post and many others.

19. One More To Go | Thanks again Em for putting up with all of these posts and bringing my basic grammar skills up a grade level. Not sure what I'd do without you. I know I'd have commas in the wrong spots and my life would be empty. You're the best.

Thanks again to everyone for commenting and providing some great insights. I'm temped to ease myself out of this blogging addiction and might commit to 2 posts a week for June. Stay tuned.
